Programs at Camp Max Straus are designed to maximize the inherent value of the camping experience and to provide a success-oriented experience in a noncompetitive environment.  

Peer interaction is facilitated thorough counselor leadership during participation in camp activities and programs. Campers participate in activities and programs with the members of their cabin group under the supervision of their cabin counselors and the program specialists.  

The overall camper to staff ratio is a 2 to 1 and 5 to 1 in the sleeping cabins designed
to maintain a positive, restorative
camping environment.
